73rd Testimony to Everafter
By Steven Minchin

I bought the wound

when I saw it was forever
wound around you
a transparent rosary
overcome by a neon flashing
of otherwise bruised palms
and uninjured prayers
lifted high to an exalted infant

lit up

when we wounded together
like maimed nuns swearing
little illness apostles
out on the street crying
claiming a treasure hunt
climbing through each bruise
out for survival

I bought the wound
