A Good Idea

Television images
Flashing like deer on country roads
If only my eyes were not so tired
I could see and understand
The rhymes and reasons

Driving down the lake
Seems a good idea
Now that the explosions
Sound closer and
Humanity a little further

A residue of hope
Waiting for tomorrow
Change will come
And maybe, just maybe
We will change too
