A Sick Heart
By Babatunde Lamidi

Breathtaken is how I felt any time
you graced me with your presence.
My entire world revolved around you.
Like a battery to a phone, without you
I can’t function, without you I can’t
breathe, without you I can’t be me.
Your love is poison to my soul,
but your absences is more deadly.
We used to stare deep into the sun
but now I stare deep into nothing
as the wind blows away your remains.
