Bobby Neff was Falcon, Roger was Roger,
him 66 but looking like 80,
RR and Arnie, Biker Ken and I.
Misfits and mechanics
working for a dying company.
Standing circled like some ancient tribe,
passing a bottle of Black Velvet
without even the pretense
of a brown paper bag.
Most days a quart, others even more.
Telling life stories, real or made up.
I didn’t know I was too young to have any.
