Ant Traps
By Patricia Asuncion

Native ants scurry
to fill space,
a networked shelter
for their race

with unending
stories
blocking
intricate corridors against outsiders who’d raid
their thinking
with forced
drinking

a new Jones juice
to induce
an anternet of submission
reduced
to unquestioned obedience to profits
of the elite,
at the cost
of the rest on the street.

They’re trapped
in the busy
of the food-to-mouth
chain
to sustain
revolution against the POTUS ant’s
institution
that maintains
his persecution,
starvation
of the masses through taxes
and privations.

They are crushed
with obligations,
enslaved by his gluttony, no time to rebuild ruins
of their flattened
democracy,
turned cash-hearted
autocracy.

  1. Sad, but a unique way to put it. Continue. You will have plenty to report.
