Because We Came from the Same Cocoon
By Emmanuel Stephen Ogboh

i lost myself in the sticky
drool of your glistening promises
you lost yourself in
the spooky chambers of
my green, mazy mystique
Do we want to be found?
you tell yourself lies
and try to believe my half-truths
but why do these caterpillars
cleave to our wings?
And, why can’t we lie about that, too?
i belong to you
you belong to me
we came from
the same cocoon.
