Another Birthday
By Murray Dunlap

In light of it all, I solve a puzzle
I redefine ‘good’
In spite of it all, I solve another puzzle
And while still crying, I smile
The satisfaction of recovery
Is balanced with growth
From an ugly heart to beautiful

A new world stands before me
My eyesight, keen
I see a new world this year
And I embrace the growth
The struggle has been dire
But the rewards, great

Have another birthday
Relearn to smile
The world is new again
Celebrate
