A flash of light stole the street
A swift blow mumbled the night
Spit found its new home …
on my cheek
on my nose
on my lips
The sirens sang a repetitive song
Deep within my unconscious ocean …
“Faggot!”
“Faggot!”
“Faggot!”
A calculated kick took my breath
And left me unable to react as a man
The patrons of life continued on …
Unconcerned about my state
Unconcerned about my life
Unconcerned about my truth
There was no Jesus to save me
In a moment of solitude I was broken …
Scarred and broken
Scared and ashamed
Scared and dead
