Contributor Series 7: The Confessional Diary of Bone
The Words and the Music
By Bob Christin

When the pain
in my worn
body is
relentless,
insulting,
poems sing
to that hurt
animal,
send music
to aching
bones, vibrate
in marrow,
resonate
in veins and
arteries.
Blues shifting
into rich
airy blood.
The words heal
become flesh.

Bob’s most recent poem to appear at vox poetica was Goodness (July 2010).
