Conversations Among Friends
By Wendy Freborg

My girlhood friends and I used to talk about boys,
About how they made us feel and how to act around them.
We also talked about our parents—
How to keep them happy while doing what we wanted.

Now we talk about our grandchildren,
About how they make us feel and how to act around them,
We also talk about their parents—
How to keep them happy while doing what we want.
