Enough
By Anna Sanders

I heard the news
My heart is broken
Tears fill my eyes.

I look in the mirror
Streaks of purple
Cascade down my face . . .
Purple tears.

Another tragedy
Added to the growing list
Of senseless death.

Let’s come together
Join our collective forces
To fight this evil monster.

Instead, we stand apart
Each group steadfast
In its own ideology
Attacking one another
For the differences
We should celebrate.
