In Your Eyes
By Laura Zucca-Scott

We are scattered in the wind
Words of wisdom unheeded
Laughter silenced by pain

We struggle every day
To understand
To see

A lightning strike does not make a storm
But what does it take
To call it a tempest?

Is it the courage
Of a day
The resilience
Of a century

Please, don’t leave
In your eyes
Rests my hope

  1. Kathryn says:

This is so easily relateable to me, especially right now! Beautifully written, and though brief it packs a punch of emotion.

  2. The last line says it all. Lovely.
