The slipper-slot
we slide
the scissors into
after use
is home to them

the way
this house
we share is home
to us.

And yet,
I’m going traveling,
as I’m wont
to do.

My heart
so loves it here—
this fit—
and yet
there’s more,
somehow.

The best
of all is like
the scissors
and their slot:

to have the fit,
and leave,
and then
return.
