It's just poetry, it won't bite

I Turn to Paper

Alita Pirkopf’s most recent poem to appear here was “Another Miller’s Daughter” (March 2019)

I Turn to Paper
By Alita Pirkopf

I suit the light, dry wind
that blows me, paperlike
and dead, though it is spring
and flowers in others’ yards
are bright.

Type, write, one might
lose oneself outside of time,
in words. Had one chosen dance,
in body. But that is what hurts—
composed of parts, heart.

  1. As a writer/poetic I know it’s easy to do. We need to get out and smell the roses.
