i write because . . .
not for fame or dollars

but I see so much hate
and misunderstanding
unnecessary poverty

that I must protest
love does exist
people do care
there is hope
for the poor and oppressed

so I write my few words
for all to hear
the world is not
heading towards disaster
. . . yet
