It's just poetry, it won't bite

Insanity

Insanity
By Sabrina Gutierrez

Why write about you?
I’m blinded by infatuation
And unable to resist
Wanting to put together
All the soppy
Pathetic ways
That I adore you.
It’s insanity,
Also defined as
Doing something over
And over
And over again,
Each time expecting something different.
So I’m sitting here,
Staring at what seems to be my hundredth attempt
At some cliché poem
About some seemingly perfect boy,
Who speaks sincere, beautiful words,
Knowing damn well there are millions of other things
I could write about,
Millions of other things
People would rather hear about–
And wondering why on earth
You’re all that the ink ever spills.

“You are all the ink that ever spills…”
This line feels to me like the beginning of another poem. I like this poem very much.
