La Libecciata / Wind Storm
By Laura Zucca-Scott

I once saw a painting
Fattori’s La Libecciata
The wind mercilessly
Battering lonely tamarix trees
Bent by the sheer force
Colors bleeding away
Sea, sky, and earth
Whispering their rebellion
Losing against
The rage of the storm
Before my time
In my time
Until the end
Many braved the elements
They last
Maybe hurt
Maybe marked
Silent but strong

One Response to “La Libecciata / Wind Storm”
