Last Sunset
By Laura Zucca-Scott

If this were my last sunset
gold feathers on sleepy corn fields
and green oceans roaring with might
chasing life running by

I would be sad
but not angry
leaving abruptly would hurt
and missing all the goodbyes

In my life, I have known happiness
I have known love
and in the peace of the coldest night
I can still see the stars
