Living a Life
By Michael Copeland

There are sand castles to be built
and dreams to be lived,
loves to experience, and emotions.
Walks to be taken in warm summer sand
and kisses to be stolen near oceans.

There are hands to be held
and smiles to be shared.
Life to be loved and embraced,
songs to be sung alone in the wood
with actions pondered and faced.

Relations to build on in
some nuanced fashion,
foreshadowing outlandish malaise.
A frontal assault on life’s decorum
from transgressions of bygone days.
