It's just poetry, it won't bite

How long before we, us, our, ours ends?

Glenn Johnson’s most recent poem to appear here was “In Silence” (June 2016)

How long before we, us, our, ours ends?

                  What is death’s measurement?

What determines its width, depth, length?

                                 Measured by what?

Time and time again . . .

unmeasured sentences of we, us, our, ours.

     Let go!  Move on!

                    More easily said than done.

     Let go!  Move on!

Is travel beyond absence erasure of you?

Rub to oblivion everything we, us, our, ours?

Our life-time together,

             a procession, shared moments

one after another to horizon of your time.

What shared was shared . . . forever shared.

Is travel beyond absence erasure of you?

      Let go! Move on!

How to move beyond Kevlar fabric of memory?

      Let go!  Move on!

Slips through heart like pools of mercury

escapes through hidden crevices of we, us, our, ours.

Unknown how stop measurement of your disappearance

Know journey began moment of your death stare.

                                                       Beyond lost and found.
