Love’s Hearth
By Glenn Johnson
Stair cases sagging
elevators dangling
doors crooked
absent knobs
rooms ancient
future’s longings stored
No matter up down
now
just said done
Your room
tending hearth
ashes stirred
embers glow rise
matters life decide
above the smoke
where heart can breathe
love lingers
locked
in place forgotten
Heart naked heart
Lost key chain I
found exactly where wanted
beyond widowhood
beyond grief’s mirage
beyond hope’s famine
long life’s wisdom
experience’s nurture
Unlocked
threshold crossed
Heart’s windows open
revealing
vision unexpected
Our room
love’s hearth tended
ashes stirred
embers glow rise
matters life decide
above the smoke
in place forgotten
where heart can breathe
rekindled
love awakens
into each other’s arms arrive
Neat! I liked the climb.
