Susan Davis Gabbay’s most recent poem to appear here was “Skippy” (September 2017)
My memories of
Long Beach Island go back to
Nineteen forty-one.
Sandpipers, seagulls
Little pink crabs in the sand
We splashed in the surf.
Variety shop
Run by kind old Japanese
Soon the enemy.
Poignant
This one made me stop, reflect. Wow. What a big little poem, so strong in simplicity.
