Rail Station at Midnight
By Souvik Chakraborty

Nox spreads her wings a bit too soon,
And I watch the grim night advance.
The last local train departs silently.
Life again becomes a game of chance.

The clear sky is suddenly beclouded.
The lonely moon looks all ready to die.
The stars lose their glimmer and the
Dreams of a bright future bid goodbye.

I don’t see any trains to board.
Hope is an undelivered letter.
The promise of the tracks mocks me.
I look around but don’t see anything better.

The rail station is empty and desolate.
My stomach is sick, I’m numb from the pain.
But I will not turn back on my plans.
I don’t give up. I wait for a train.

  1. I could see everything. Even felt pity for the pov. Nice work.
