Not a Single Tear

Baby face
Not shedding a tear
You face the camera
Like a gun
Your hands are up
You surrender
A four-year-old Syrian child
An involuntary warrior
Captive of a world
She did not choose

Cry for her
For all the innocence
That is lost
In a world of hatred

Cry for her
Then stand up
And say no more
