Small Worlds III
(after the painting by Wassily Kandinsky)
By Neil Ellman

Our universe
through the eyepiece
of a telescope
like beads of infinite pearl
on infinite strands of light;
through a microscope
infinity fractured
into a myriad of warps
inside its cosmic weave–
our small worlds
fragile, scattered and alone
existing only in the eye.
