Sorrow
By Michael Copeland

Farewell lovely maiden
good life to thee I pray.
Fly free in the knowledge
of my captured heart.
‘Tis nevermore to be,
the joining of loving spirits.

With hand on my heart beat
I wish you Godspeed and peace.
You are deserved of the finest
that the Universe can offer for the
remainder of your days.
May you remain strong and resolute.

Passing of ships on the ebon eve
brings a sorrow of deepest feel.
Rhythmic thoughts of your knowing
smile and laughter, lilting like music.
Gathering memories of you even
after you’re gone.
