Spell

Spell
By Molly Frederick

Better than silence—these birds
that halve the softer breeze
of daybreak.

What longer eternity could there be
than this? With so much openness,
floating.

The rapture of this (not that),
and then
what comes after.

The earth carries us so well
when we
let it.
