The stars bent
By Dawnell Harrison

The stars bent
to take my hands
and lead me
into the moon-laden night.
I’ve fallen and dipped
so low that it seems
there’s nowhere left
to turn.
The stars know nothing
of this as their fire
breathes sweetly
onto my face.
