Sublime
By Murray Dunlap

The task of the day: paint a fence
Simple but needed, an obligatory task
Sanding, you stop to think
You can do this: you are alive

With a stroke of a brush, it is obvious
You work to tidy your home
The word home has been an elusive goal
Difficult to define
But a downward brushstroke and it is clear
A sublime epiphany
You are home
