Bobbie Troy’s most recent poem to appear here was “The Streets of London Cried Too” (November 2017)

The Fallen
By Bobbie Troy

they are falling
all around me
like soldiers in battle
but they are not soldiers
they are my friends,
friends of friends,
family, and friends of family
each at the end of their life
but winning no medals
for being heroes in their time
for being strong enough to get through life
facing whatever they had to face
they are falling
all around me
like soldiers in battle

You can always count on Bobbie for great insight

  2. Sandy says:

This poem sums up exactly what I have been feeling this past year, not just for the dear ones who have left but anxiety for the ones I know will step into the other side very soon. I feel their loss before the actual departure and I want to run to them across the globe, shouting I love you I love you I love you!

  3. Bobbie, your poems always hit home. This is the longest poem I’ve read of yours and it packs a wallop.

  4. Dee Ann Smith says:

    So very, very true.
