Paul Strohm’s poem It’s a Life appeared here in May (2013).

The Poets
By Paul Strohm

They sing of life, calm, sweet,
  each opportunity a heartfelt note
  some high high because only
song will extend, even remotely sang,
  the mood of the world
  sings of singing.

When songs were young
they sang Oh! such a language
the world was new and spinning
  words of praising song,
  scrap love, yet love
  songs of singing.
