The Soul
By Michael Copeland

Somewhere North of North
in the dark New England wood
a wandering soul encountered
the sacred heart of good.

Hiding there amidst the trees,
and moss of green and blue,
the purest form of loving now
a beating heart so true.

A single beam of moonlight fell
upon this magic place
and strings of harplike music
filled it all with grace.

There among the darkened stand
a soul reached out to all
wishing with its very might
to find the living call.
