It's just poetry, it won't bite

The Victim of the Vulture

03.25.13 Posted in today's words by

I believe vultures don’t actually kill lions, but given the chance, they sure would eat them once dead. Joseph Garcia, at the ripe old age of 9, has clearly learned the difference between fact and truth in poetry. His imagery conveys the truth of his story. Joseph is the brother of Jubilee and Nicole Poulain Garcia. He enjoys reading and writing, particularly adventure stories concerning superheroes and strange villains. This is his first published poem.

The Victim of the Vulture

By Joseph Garcia

The vulture soars
As the lion roars
The vulture kills
As lion blood spills
The vulture looks down
Seeing lion’s frown
As there it lay
The vulture’s prey.
It eats from its carcass
And all the lion sees
Is darkness.
