Together
By John Pursch

I lived the dream
of a long, full life,
of the endless beach
and the summer rain
in sudden thunderclaps
of silence.

I felt the warmth
of your deep, rich love,
of home and land
and the sad, sweet depths
of life’s extravagance
in twilight.

I heard the song
of things to come,
of life undone
and the promise
of our final days
together.

  1. This is beautiful. It reminded me of my loving husband. Thanks.
