I day-dreamt today
desk to elbow-supported palm
cradling bearded chin
miles away, envisioning just you.
Perhaps I imagined a wisp of your scent
or closed my eyes to your murmuring lips
then startled to reality–smiling.
I didn’t mention it however,
because in love
he who cares most loses.

Perhaps I imagined a wisp of your scent
or closed my eyes to your murmuring lips

I didn’t mention it however,
because in love
he who cares most loses.
Imagination is everything.
