By Joanna S Lee

like good philosophers we
don’t share toothpaste or
histories but

squeeze what’s left
of our souls
into the opening of

an hour, hold naked
hands with our nightmares and
our jealousies & talk

them down from ledges
where they dream of
escape.

“hold naked hands…talk them down from ledges..”. My nightmares and jealousies need all of this! So this poem spoke to me, and to them. Very effective.

  3. Sarah says:

This is amazing. The line breaks are genius. Beautiful.
