We Are the Seekers
By Jonathan Douglas Dowdle

Cross the purpose with intent, we reach down and lend a hand
To ease the burden of the vow, and leave it weightless,
And there are crosses that we bear, to tend the wounds beyond
Repair, we speak the words that you can hear, if you are listening;
This is the train of the thought, the destination can’t be bought,
The tracks are singing,
So catch the train toward your heart, and hear the word that you once
Caught, that rests there, peaceful.

We are the lessons, yet unlearned, where the views just burn
While the fear eats the turns, that spiral eternal,
We are the seekers of fresh days, that turn away what has
Decayed, and breathe toward life in our own way, like a dawning;
If you must know, we split the tide, and do what no one else has
Tried, and we fall to confide in a whisper,
The truth is what you can trace, if you are willing to face your face
And move through old and darkened days toward your arrival.

We are the seekers who walk through
Each eternal, forbidden truth, and gather ashes;
We are the sowers of the seeds, that germinate to
New belief and whisper faithful.

So if you would know the way, just open
Your eyes to come what may, and walk through
The house you paved toward your wisdom.

We cross the purpose with intent,
Speaking through the evidence
Of wishful, faithful;
This is the train of the thought, the destination can’t be bought,
The tracks are singing,
So catch the train toward your heart, and hear the word that you once
Caught, that rests there, peaceful.
