Maria Arana’s most recent poem to appear here was “The Moon” (July 2018).
Weather
By Maria Arana
beat soft
on that day
chill skulks up my spine
window-
smashing
dripping corners
(I felt) the urge
to go outside
extend my hand
clasp
raindrops
water crept closer
my bare feet
icicles
whose spent days
refreshed me
my mouth opens
I jump
letting joyous sparkles
fill my body
for a moment
life
and I was gone
