Joshua Burton is a 22-year-old college student from Houston TX. He earned his AA at Lone Star College in the spring of 2012 and is currently attending University of Houston majoring in creative writing. Joshua was diagnosed with clinical depression at age 18 and has lived with Asperger syndrome since childhood. He began writing at 15 and is looking forward to the publication of his first chapbook by unbound CONTENT.

Sleep, time and time again
How I longed for that moment
Always out of reach
Like a dream I failed to remember
Absence, I don’t need it anymore
I became a slave to it, but not anymore
How I needed that passing time
But time doesn’t need to dream
I’m stronger awake
