Poetry is the lifeblood of creative expression, the perfect union of sound and image, and it finds its way into every element of human communication. It is read in books and heard in song, but it resonates also in the bark of a dog or the ring of a bell (think Poe!).
Notice the poetry all around you, attune your ear to it, and incorporate it into your every day. Then take what you hear, transcribe it to the page, and share it with someone else, because poetry is written to be spoken.
Check today's words for daily postings, words to linger on for biweekly postings, and poemblog for archived postings. Want to be inspired? Spend time at the prompts page! Let the words you find here make you think and feel, let them make you want more, let them lead you to your own writing. It's just poetry, it won't bite (well, sometimes it might bite, but only in a good way).
