It's just poetry, it won't bite

Keep on Driving

08.11.10 Posted in today's words by

KC Bosch gave us an iconic day in his recent poem Stealing Days. Some of you will read this and wish it were the dead of winter. Some of you in the southern hemisphere will read this and wish you weren’t living the dead of winter. Some of you in more tropical climes will read this and find it totally unrelatable. I read this and find myself very content with the heat and humidity of a New Jersey summer.

Keep on Driving
By KC Bosch

28 degrees as I walk to my truck
the sky in the east is turning from dark blue to purple.
The moon and one very bright star above.
The air is still with a faint smell of wood smoke.
Only sound is gravel crunching under my shoes.
Reminding me of long ago mornings going hunting.
Or not …
Makes me want to point the truck west
and keep on driving.

  1. Ah, the dreams of a hunter. Smell the air, hear the quiet and bring home the prize. I was there with you.
