Ashes to Ashes
By Frank Adams
Today—I scatter your ashes
in the woods
behind the house we shared.
Today—you are the wind,
the bleeding hearts, planted
by your hands, ten years ago,
the stream, the pines,
walnuts and oaks—the blackberries
in summer’s sun, the soil,
tilled for roses, and
the cool night air.
Today—you are home.
Really great!
Lovely, Frank. Nice work.
