Another morning
By R Martin Basden
Another morning
offers a nature call to the dog and for me
a chance to watch the half-moon’s wan smile
above the Eastern horizon
taunt sunrise from darkness with a
catch-me-if-you-can
borrowed primacy.
offers a nature call to the dog and for me
a chance to watch the half-moon’s wan smile
above the Eastern horizon
taunt sunrise from darkness with a
catch-me-if-you-can
borrowed primacy.
Or is it boredom’s reflection
of endless repetition
on her pale surface
in the which-chases-what rigor of pursuit
that I can witness
at the cusp
of any new day?
