A note by which to work

While riding in a cab one day
I found a voice locked in my head
He looked frazzled filled with dread.
I asked him sir, what’s your concern
He mumbled something I could not discern.
I offered him a slice of cake, a dish of cookies, all I had freshly baked.
Now tell me sir nice and slow what ills effect you, do you know?
He had no answer I could hear but then he whispered in my ear. I need a hug to drive out fear.
I enjoyed reading your poem. It has both great charm and insight.
