An Offer of Light
By J.B. Hogan

She offers light
where none is found.
She spreads light
where none has been.

For she knows the dark,
knows it full well,
how it drains the light,
blocks our sight.

She has felt the dark,
felt its contradictory burn,
its searing blackness
its soul-destroying fire.

Yet she offers light
where none is found.
For she is light—
by grace and suffering
healed.
