Anxiety Renewed
By Douglas Polk
By Douglas Polk
quiet with time to think,
hands restless,
thoughts bounce around,
inside the skull,
unsure why the anxiety,
the logic tries to calm,
while guilt screams from the back of the brain,
blaming past actions,
and erotic thoughts,
still the silence lurks,
empty and unabated,
the void demanding to be filled,
the question how,
while the anxiety continues to build.
hands restless,
thoughts bounce around,
inside the skull,
unsure why the anxiety,
the logic tries to calm,
while guilt screams from the back of the brain,
blaming past actions,
and erotic thoughts,
still the silence lurks,
empty and unabated,
the void demanding to be filled,
the question how,
while the anxiety continues to build.
