Ariadne
By Brandon Copeland

The pilgrimage out,
Of one’s labyrinth
is a journey,
A legend,
Littered with lightfooted leaps

We all need our Ariadne,
with her skeins of gold
iridescent guide through our nights.
With her little lilliputian fingers
she constrains our Minotaurs
incubated within our brambled cloisters
until Gulliver emerges.
She resizes remembrances,
and surefooted trysts with destiny beckon
from reckoning with dead ends.
