London, A Night Out: The Underground
By Fischer Lawrence
They were so tastefully dressed
So artfully obsessed
And their clearance
So artfully obsessed
And their clearance
Made the distance seem more.
Stepping into the Underground
The wind ripped
Their sight right from my eyes
There was no pause to consider.
An act of God
The insurance would say
But it was clear to me
That they were dressed to kill.
Fischer Lawrence’s poem The Mating of the Cooper’s Hawk appeared here in January 2011.
Intriguing and fun.
