Для моей дочери, Марина

By Darryl Willis

I have been missing you, my friend.
It has been far too long and
the distance between is a world away.
Time and space collude and conspire
to regulate and manipulate our
friendship. But the heart transcends
the tyranny of Chronos-Geography.
And though we can only snatch at time
in coffee shop or café,
or sing our songs electronic
across a brooding sea, our hands
will clasp each others’ as we walk
together in the night once more
through the park: father and daughter.
