Do you know, love
By Sushant Supriye

O dear,
I love the far-away,
lost expression
in your eyes.

I love
the corners of
your sad smile
which seem
like a scab over a wound.

I love
the unwrinkled silence
that lies between us
while we alone-together
view the patch of our turquoise sky
through my open window.

I love
the stab of identity
you give me
when you destroy me
in the syrupy nights.

Yes dear,
I love
those moments too
when I, invaded by emptiness,
hide my face
in your pillowy breasts
and feel as if
I am a broken alphabet
of some long-lost script,
while you linger over
the butt-ends of nothingness,
seeming to belong to here
as well as nowhere.
